MTV White Carpet Fashion

I was bored by the MTV awards this year and I'm sure I am not the only one who felt like last year's MTV Music Awards were way better. As much as the performers bored me I must say I kept an eye out for the best dressed fashionistas and Ashley Greene, Katy Perry, Ciara and of course Lady Gaga were a few of my favorite. Going back to the actual show, I was rooting for Chelsea Handler to knock this gig out the park, I expected a star studded performance roaster and I would appreciate Taylor a little more if she had shoes on and gave me a different rhythm. boring. Ok, no shots at Taylor. MTV gets A+ for production with the magical stage set up and icy white carpets.

 

Ciara's wardrobe may be all "Givenchied" out but she always delivers; and as for Lady Gaga in Alexander Mc Queen? No words. Love!

Emmy Awards Fashion: White Dresses

Although the Oscars have passed the Emmy Awards 2010 gave celebrities and fashionistas alike a haute taste of  one Hollywood's most gorgeous night outs. While the good, the bad and the ugly yes there were those too came out to celebrate tv's big night we can't escape the breathe taking gowns and show stopping stilettos parading the red carpet rolled outside the Staples Center in Los Angeles California. A big trend this season at the 2010 Emmy's were white classic dresses; embellished, laced, draped and bold accessories gave these choices a stamp of approval.

Look Of The Day: Tahj Mowry

Now that's a "Smart Guy"! Tahj Mowry is no longer the adventurous ten year old genius he played on tv. He has grown into a talented handsome style savvy gentleman who has made it clear that he is one of Michael Jackson's (King of Pop/Fashion Icon) biggest fans. Among so many other celebrities Tahj hit the red carpet at the 10th Anniversary of the BET awards with a freshly groomed ensemble. This is the epitome of a simple yet classic look which Tahj definitely owned. I hear my male friends who are supporters of this blog complain about the lack of male inspired fashion posts. I hope I did well this time because I fell in love with Tahj's look here. Decked from head to toe with pieces from fashion company All Saints, his daring leather jacket, simple grey tee, necklace, skinny cut jeans and the classic combats made his red carpet appearance effortlessly successful. The Chic Report Approves.

Kerry Washington at Lucille Awards

Hey Chic Fam,
So if you follow me on twitter (www.twitter.com/CJay282) you should have seen my tweets and commentary live at the Lucille Awards on Sunday. I twitpic'd and gushed over a hug by one of the most influenctial Hollywood stars Kerry Washington. She's so sweet and funny! I love her even more after meeting her on Sunday during the VIP Party at Terminal 5. During the award show Kerry who was also a presenter sat at a same table next to Olsen twin Ashley and boo. Ofcourse, when she approached me I had to take a second look at her outfit. I thought it was brilliant how she paired tan staples in different hues from head to toe. I love it! Simple yet so Chic! The best thing about this look is that the clothes spoke for itself. No accessory compliments. Well executed Kerry. What do you think?

Ahhhh Rihanna, we just cannot get enough of you, well... your sense of style and continually pushing the fashion envelope. Rihanna walked the red carpet as well as performed at the Kid's Choice Awards this weekend and as usual she looks effortlessly stunning in a Christian Dior dress straight off the Spring 2010 runway. Trust Riri to add extra edge and fabulousity to her ensembles. Ri and her styling team adding more padding to the shoulders to create that exaggerated shoulder statement. Love it!

Pay extra attention to the lucid shimmery socks and nude pumps.

KEKE PALMER IN ADAM FROCK

Happy Monday readers! If you don't know me by now I love finding stuff from the red carpet and comparing them to when they first debuted down the runway... So this past weekend the Kid's Choice Awards went down in Los Angeles and all of the star studded family's walked the red carpet. KeKe Palmer is one of my favorite child stars, her energy and drive is beyond this world and whoever picks out her wardrobe choices definitely make sure that they portray that in her ensemble. Below KeKe P is wearing a multicolored beaded frock from ADAM's Spring 2009 collection. With her jolly personality this looks is perfect for her! Way to go KeKe...

Oscars 2010 Best Red Carpet: Zoe Kravitz, Queen Latifah, Anika Noni Rose

Although they werent nominee's of this years Academy Awards these three stunners were amongst the glamourous nominees, presenters and supporters of this night's gathering. I'm yet to find out the designers and get runway pics of these three grorgeous dresses but my red acrpet segment cannot go by unnoticed without recognising three glammed divas that I look up to in hollywood. Zoe's style and so charming, Queen Latifah's drive and her verstility is almost ridiculous how she can look like a tom boy one day and transform into this hollywood diva in the other. Anika Noni Rose's success in The Princess and the Frog was exceptional. Definately proved to be more than just "the other Dream Girl". The light shone upon the red carpet tonight and Im excited to post these gems up for The Chic Report readers.

Oscars 2010 Best Red Carpet: Sandra Bullock in Marchesa

Big win for Sandra Bullock shortly after she walked down the red carpet in a Marchesa bedazzled lace and satin frock. Bullock looked absolutely amazing with the simple straight hair and bold lips accessorised with a gold clutch. The Chic Report gives her "Best Glamourous Leading Actress". BRITS Awards Red Carpet

The Brit Awards took place this week and as usual I'm here to ditch on my favorite red carpet moments. I didnot see the award show, but thank heavens for the world wide web I can successfully view the red carpet appearances. Ok so yeah I know Lady Gaga is on my list and usually she isnt. We all know Lady Gaga is unique so lately I'm not surprised by anything she wears....She's unique in her own way. But Leona Lewis metalic one shoulder frock and pink pumps is perfect. Love the look Lilia Alen is so pretty! Just adore the black with bold embellishments tres-glam.

As usual the diva along with the brainchild behind the scenes (her stylist Mariel Hann) never seizes to amaze us with their choice of staples. Im sure Jean Paul Gautier is uberly proud that his piece looks effortlessly-chic on Ri Ri. She also won international artist of the year ....Props to Rih Rih!!! she's dressed for the occassion. Award season is Finally here! With the Golden Globe red carpet lastnight, the Grammy's of the 31st and the Oscars sometime really soon The Chic Report is really excited!!! Whether you caught or missed the 67th Golden Globe Awards lastnight nothing is more exciting than the morning after critics. As usual there are some dresses I admired and some that should have remained on the racks of designer showrooms. My favorite of the night was Kate Hudson's white gown by Marchesa a definate stunner on the red carpet. While Halle Berry and Mariah showed much cleavage Monique, Sandra Bullock and Fergie gave us shoulders with ruched sillouettes and satin. here are my favorite looks....

Stephane Rolland at Glamour Magazine's Women of the Year awards. Rihanna was honored for her philanthropic work with the "Believe" foundation and the positive reaction to her encounter earlier this year. This ensemble of creativity was put together by none other than her stylist Mariel Hann. More of the Glamour Women of The Year awards in a later post...

Who can strut the red carpets with not one piece of accessory and still look stunning!!!!............Answer is No one but B...So people who call them selves fashion guru's critics the Oscar red carpets and ranked Beyonce's dress as one of the worst dresses...No Way, I absolutely love the dress and she looks sooo good in it. The mermaid look definately works for her, check out this rare specimen of unique perfection...Only B can do it...



Whether she was lip synching or not, this was a gr8 performance. I absolutely loved it...Although I didnt see the Oscars :( (I worked)...I caught the fashion and the performances.
