Whether or not Letoya Luckett looks absolutely stunning in this purple partly sheer skin tight mini is out of the question. The "Lady Love" is definitely earning this look. With that being said I can help but think about all those who have failed miserably with the famous skin-tight mini. This look is for someone who is well-proportioned; not primarily skinny, thin, or petite. When wearing a skin type mini there are so many factors you must take into consideration. Fabric, length, color, body structure are just a few. Its essential that the best dress is chosen for the perfect shape. Choose pieces that will accentuate your feminine curves in the right spots.

Pump up the volume with these golden glitter pumps from Steve Madden to your next summer soiree. Whenever the fashionista-on-a-budget feels like channeling her inner Carrie Bradshaw a trip to Steve Madden seals the deal. Ofcourse the signature YSL is legendary-chic but in this case its definitely out of the equation. Retails at $139 online and at Steve Madden/Nodstram/Macy's stores.

Its Summer Summer Summer time, and its time to pull out the brights. There are so many free concerts going on around NYC and I'm sure there are in your city as well. If you're going to dance and enjoy yourself then why not wear something cute and comfortable? Cropped tee's, cut off shorts, rompers, graphic sunglasses, bright fushcia makeup and accessories are in. Let this set be your inspiration for the next concert in the park. Central Park and Prospect Park are live this summer dont forget to check it out if you're in the Tri state area.
I Love Chanel! Jadore Chanel... This is a french film Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky which I heard is really good with of course English subtitles. Fashion and French? What else could you ask for? Can't wait to see this...
Have you seen it?
Its wedding season and I know some of my dearest readers are looking for the cute "it dress" to attend that outdoor wedding festivities. Upcoming designer and my favorite City girl Whitney Port is definitely leaving her mark on this industry. I love this dress because its simple yet bold and the flattering black and gold fabric makes it even more fashionable and daring. This is a selection from Whitney Eve's Spring 2010 collection. Although its sold out on the site, you can use this as inspiration to find your next chic piece.
The Hills star also New York Times Best Selling Author Lauren Conrad has "wowed" us with her successful post Hills projects. We thought the hiatus of her high end designer line self titled "Lauren Conrad" was the end of her career but little did we know her ongoing collaboration with department store Kohl's has awarded her total respect as a fashion designer. Many baffled at the announcement of her fiction novel LA Candy and Sweet Little Lies (I've read and covered both on this blog). Can we say SCORE for Lauren Conrad after this movie deal? Now Lauren is about to release a new book "Lauren Conrad Style". Lets face it, I'm really not a huge fan of reality stars writing books especially on this sensitive style factor, but if you're familiar with Lauren's effortlessly chic ensembles then you would be as amped as I am for this new book. I'm totally getting this style guide by LC. Tell me what you think, would you buy the book and what do you think about Lauren's personal style?

I guess by now she's known for wearing other designers to events but whether or not she looks CHIC and always effortlessly styled is a given. Taking risks with her fashion ensembles have definitely crowned The City's Olivia Palermo socialite-fashionista. She was spotted during couture week on the red carpet at Elie Saab wearing a flattering leopard print dress and oversized bucked belt. I admire her choice of separates. The smartly patterned staples compliments her structure. She's wearing one of my favorite young talented designers BENSONI, I've always admired his work and Olivia definitely did these pieces justice.
More on BENSONI in a later post!

Before I owned almost every swatch of MAC cosmetic lipstick I was a lipgloss nerd. The glistening of my makeup kit was out of control and I could only trust a few brand to give me the luxe shimmering hue that I was looking for. Luckily I've been a fan of BENEFIT's packaging so whenever I get to Bloomingdale's this counter would be on my "visit" list. Ladies, there are days when we have no time in the name of beauty and a five minute face is all we can spare. The Chic Report picks Benefit gloss for anyone whose looking to attain a lavendering look but less matte. Retails at Macy's/ Bloomingdale/ Sephora for $18.00. I've added a photo to show you how it looks. Hope you like it...

Between filming and attending Haute Couture shows in Paris this Gossip Girl has had the style web going crazy with her awesome choices of separates. The Chic Report is a huge fan of simple, effortless, classic staples, high end but fun pieces. Just when we thought dazzling blazers were out for the summer Blake reinforces how much style is inevitable in these ensembles. My favorite look would be the blue pants, gold statement shoulder blazer, minimum accessories, messy up do with pale-glamorous makeup.

More on Haute Couture. The master heads behind DIOR sent models down the runway with a everlasting strut of glory. The gowns from the collection are self explanatory HAUTE. One of my favorites thus far...
Watch the entire runway show here:
Breaking Fashion News: For those of you who follow MTV's The City religiously as I do then I'm sure you're at the edge of your seat for the next episode which is the season finale. Whitney is definitely changing, first it was her approach to her best friend Roxy over a jacket that she clearly couldn't force a singer to wear. Now we're about to witness Whitney's new career transition. Well TCR (The Chic Report) is predicting Whitney Port's new home at Alison Brod. PR! We did some fact checking and Whitneyeve is indeed listed on the client roaster among several household names including Old Navy, VS PINK, Jill Stuart and Alice and Olivia. Wonder what went wrong with Kelly Cutrone and People's Rev. ? I really want to know what you guys think about this, knowing that Kelly's been there for Whitney since day one. She held her hand in this tough industry and went above and beyond to see her line succeed. Fast forward to one of the earliest episodes this season... who would actually shed a tear for a client after a runway show in this heartless industry?
We're wishing Whitney all the best and I hope this doesn't tarnish her relationship with Kelly Cutrone.
Side note: BUY KELLY'S BOOK

Haute Couture collections are underway in Paris and some of our favorite style savvy celebrities are out there gracing front seat of these high end designer shows. I will post a few here as the week progresses, as fashionistas/ style addicts/ trend innovators I think you will enjoy the Haute Couture posts.

I love a nude lip but it has to be the right swatch and the right texture. I also love when makeup looks so effortless, fresh and clean. I'm a color fanatic but The Chic Report wont endorse walking around with clown makeup. Its the summer time and as our clothes gets brighter our makeup needs to be as toned down as possible. We've posted tips and insights on the famous Red/ Purple/ Orange Lip but now its time for a more refined look. Want this look? Here are a few tips:
1. A CLEAN FACE, and by that I do not mean just a dab of neutrogena a rinse and then call it a day. Tyra showed us how to clean the lip with petroleum jelly and an old soft bristol toothbrush to remove excess skin from the surface of your lip. Try it, it works.
2. CONTOUR. A great linning is essential. A dab of concealer will help.
3. PICK THE RIGHT SWATCH. The color of your skin doesnt mean the color of your skin. Whatever hue you try on has to look as natural as possible. For instance someone whose dark in complexion may have a lighter or in my case pink lip surface. Try multiple colors and cosmetic brands to find the right lipstick.
My Pick: MAC Modesty
I love this! After applying I add a little tint to give it the "look du jour".

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend like I did. In my last post I had no clue what I was going to get into for the weekend. But...wait! Hold up! Have I ever told you how much I love NYC? Like I really do love NYC, and I think its the right place for me. There's never a dull moment here unless you don't know anyone, broke or lazy. So The Brooklyn Museum holds first Saturdays every month and I really enjoyed my first time there. When I got there the mood was so lively kids playing in the water fountains, karaoke in the museums entrance and a block party towards the back of the museum. We took a short tour and after a glass of wine we were lost in the middle of the crowd along with hundreds of people just dancing and having a good time. So Sunday Independence holiday I was invited to see a Broadway show which I really wanted to see from the time everyone started tweeting about it on its open night. I had the chance to see it last night and its a must see. FENCES carries a great deal of symbolic weight throughout the play. Its about keeping people close while cutting some....building fences around your love ones.
Denzel, Viola and the rest of the cast came to the street to greet the audience after the show.
Denzel Washington (it was so hard to take a decent picture)...
Viola Davis signing autographs
So I had no idea people were allowed to take pictures after the show, I left my camera at home and since everyone started taking pics I had to get one in from my blackberry.
So I'd like to hear what you guys did for the holiday weekend.

Unlike many I do not have any definite plans for the 4th of July celebrations. I've been throwing out ideas but truly my plans are always so fragile that I decided to live in the "spur of the moment". Well its the weekend of major festivities, fireworks, barbeque's, the beach/pool, rooftop shindigs, and amusement parks all in efforts to show patriotism,
or for some just time off and I can't stress further how imperative it is to look your best. Despite the occasion I hope you find inspiration in the sets I've designed below. The Chic Report just made the colors of the American Flag cool.
